There are two specific situations that OSHA requires workers to wear safety apparel. They establish garment design requirements for the industry. The different classes spell out how visibility is required and the amount of reflective tape that needs to be a part of the clothing and where it should be placed. SAFETY APPAREL CONSIDERATIONS OSHA requires personal protection equipment whenever an employee might get exposure to a potential hazard. Hazards can include things like reduced visibility and high traffic areas that workers in construction often face.
